I had heard a lot of great things about this restaurant and was looking forward to eating there. The ambience is amazing...dimly lit, candlelite on every table, music from the Frank Sinatra era...the table was set for a romantic dinner out...We started with the bread with baked brie as recommended by our server. When it was brought to us, the server brought special attention to the coulis and how yummy it is. I looked at it and sniffed...Could it be? It certainly looked like, smelled like and oh yes even tasted like "Queens Blend", raspberry blueberry spread that is sold by Ikea for I believe it is $2.99 for a 400g jar (I have several jars at home). I'm not saying that it was the same thing but it sure resembled this product. It was a decent appetizer. For dinner, I had linguine pomodore - the one with a tomato sauce - for $10 along with a skewer of garlic prawns for $4.50. Once again, I was taken back by a familiar smell, appearance and taste. I had memories from my recent cooking experience with Alymers tomato sauce with garlic and olive oil sold at Costco 6 cans for around $7.00. Again, I'm not saying that this for sure was used....but the sauce did seem awfully familiar. I did get a very generous serving of pasta and foccacia bread with this meal and even the balsamic vinegar and olive oil to go with the bread. I received 5 prawns which were plump and juicy. The service was friendly and efficient...certainly nothing outstanding. I would like to visit this restaurant one more time hopefully to try something that doesn't resemble products that I've had in the past.
