Don't make the same mistake that I did!!!! I went to this movie expecting a mindless summer time comedy...Nothing could be further from the truth...

Workaholic, Michael Newman (Adam Sandler), wants life to be easy and convenient without conflict. In looking for a universal remote, Newman meets Morty (Christopher Walken), who provides him with a universal remote with extraordinary powers.

Newman soon discovers that the remote does way more than turn on the TV and open the garage door...He can turn down the volume of his wife's voice and his dog's barking...He can fast forward through fights...He can skip through projects to the rewards of his so-called hard work...He can miss the hassle, embarrassment and inconvenience of family get togethers...Before he knows it, his life has passed him by, and all of the people who love him have grown up, moved on or died...and he has missed all the things that make life interesting, challenging, and just plain old worth doing.

There is something very charming about Adam Sandler...However, I found this movie to be much less than charming...In fact, the theme seemed rather familiar...On the way out of the theatre, someone pointed out its "Wonderful Life" quality. Roger Ebert in his review is reminded of Scrooge. Movies that are much generally much better.

I found the fast forward parts confusing and the movie just plain dull. Save yourself the trouble of seeing this movie or having to click your remote just to get this off the screen.
