Bistro 3.2.6
Victoria St, Kamloops
I've now been to this restaurant twice for dinner and it is awesome. This is the place to go for a long drawn out evening meal. That being said the prices also reflect the fact that there will not be a large turnover through the evening. Last night, I had the baked brie to start, the jambalaya and apple pie for dessert. While I still think the coulis for the baked brie is jam from Ikea, the whole thing is made yummy by the crust of nuts on the brie. The jambalaya comes with lots of veggies, large prawns, scallops and chorizo. This dish was a little on the spicy side for my liking, but still very tasty. The apple pie was my favourite last night. Phyllo pastry, apples, caramel sauce all served warm...mmmmm....My dining partner had a steak and seafood special. While he felt that it wasn't a whole lot for the price of $32, he did say that it was a tasty meal. I love the atmosphere in the evening although I felt that a few more servers and dimmer lighting would have made it that much better. Even so, I think this is the best western fusion restaurant in town. So leave the phone and computer and treat yourself out to an evening out.
