Valentine's Cupcakes

For the past month, I have resisted the cupcakes at Starbucks. Yesterday, I broke down and bought two chocolate and two vanilla cupcakes. Both flavours are as decadent as they look. This dessert is just right the size and not too sweet. I am a chocoholic through and through; yet, I can say that I liked the vanilla as much as I liked the chocolate. The vanilla has a gentle but complex flavour probably because they use actual vanilla beans...and the chocolate...what can I say? It is chocolate...simple, rich and just plain old yum. One cupcake is $1.95 or you can go for a more economical pack of four for $6.95. These cupcakes are here especially for Valentine's Day. My hope is that they will come back for next Valentine's if not stay around for awhile (it seems like everything I like at Starbucks gets taken off the menu). Anyways.... before the day is out, at least treat yourself if not that special someone to an affordable sweet treat.

Ticket Master

Today I went up to Sahali Mall to buy Cirque Du Soleil tix. I know I know....Had I been smart, I would have signed up with Ticket Master long ago and bought them through the pre-sale. Anyways the women working there are just following the policy...and really they managed to keep their patience, so kudos to them...but back to the policy....

I was there an hour before the kiosk opened and was given a ticket. Everyone who showed up before 9:45 got a ticket. At 9:45, a ticket was drawn. The person who had the number drawn got to select and buy their tickets first and then sequentially according to ticket numbers after that. If someone had a ticket that is numerically before the one drawn, they have to line up after the person with the very last number. The rub...a person showing up at 9:44 could potentially get their tickets before someone who had been there earlier.

How is this fair? TM apparently says they don't want people camping out for tickets. Well why do they care what we do with our time? As long as we are not disruptive....This is the most ludicrous, unfair system I've ever heard of for buying tickets. So why don't those getting on the phone or on line have to get themselves into this draw? I don't get it...Worse than that, this system has probably caused more problems than those happily camping out all night.
